***ERROR***
Hello, Lana Clark. The world you live in is wrong. It should not exist. Events in history have been altered, changed to accommodate the whims of a madman. As you’ve seen, the tale is real. In a world built on lies, it is truth. I wouldn’t blame you if you took this to the furnace at the library tomorrow, but know that if you do, we lose our best chance at setting everything right.
Mysteries abound! So many mysteries. Those of you that have already preordered it, you don't need to do anything else. You will receive the PDF on that day.

If you haven't yet purchased it yet, you can click here to make a preorder at a discounted price. On release, the price for the novelette goes up to $3.

At long last, the second edition of The Thief and The Red Mandolin has arrived. A lot of hard work and love has gone into this book and the second edition is now the definitive version of the story. In working the second edition, my hope has always been to infuse higher quality writing while maintaining the charm and fun that were so integral to the tale. In the back of my mind, I kept telling myself to not "George Lucas" the thing (Han shot first!).

Along the way, I've encountered delays, doubts and re-adjustments as I tried to figure just what the heck I was doing. Even during the 11th hour, we ran into some technical problems that will delay the wide distribution of the ebook. There's also an issue where Amazon is using the old cover for a thumbnail on the Kindle version. Luckily, we have work-arounds!

Until we get all the ebook issues worked out, you can snag a PDF copy of the book through this very website by heading over to the Books section and clicking on the "ebook on Gumroad" button.
The paperback can be ordered through Amazon.com or from the Book section where you can snag a nifty autographed copy.

The book will make its official signing debut at Smallville ComicCon in Hutchinson, KS, June 24-25. We will be there both days, so if you're in the area, stop on in and get a signed copy!

On this day of celebration, I want to show my genuine gratitude for my fans. So, I've discounted the autographed versions of both Pentinium and Project R! Now is a great time to dive into these stories. You can snag both books, again, in the Book Section of the website and use the promo code 'mandolin' during checkout.

Thanks everyone for stopping by! I truly appreciate the fans. You guys make it worthwhile.

We're so close to the official release of the 2nd edition of The Thief and The Red Mandolin! Can you tell I'm excited?

For this update, we'll cover the meat of the second edition: the interior. Of course, the biggest reason to do a second edition of anything is to clean up the original. The vast majority of the edits for the second edition are for style and editorial corrections. I'm amazed at how many errors one still finds even after multiple reads and running a manuscript through beta readers.

There are also a few new hints and snippets that better set up things to come in the second and, more importantly, the third as-yet-unreleased third book. Those of you who have copies of the first edition, I wonder if you'll catch all of the hints.

Typesetting is a big deal in print books. Even for novels, where all you have are words on a page, the way it looks when open matters. For the first edition, I just sort of slapped together whatever I thought looked okay enough. A few years ago, I picked a template for self-publishing that has been my go-to format ever since. It looks great on the page and make reading so much easier and more pleasant to the eye. With respect to the second edition, I took extra care to make sure everything looked pristine (or at least as nice as possible).

I gotta say, I'm pretty pleased with how all of this came together.

See you guys tomorrow for the official, full release!

We are officially one day away from the release of the 2nd edition of The Thief and The Red Mandolin!

So, in addition to map, I also wanted to spruce up the cover design. Not that I didn't like the old cover, but in hindsight the black-on-red scheme made it difficult to read. Plus, you can kinda tell, I was just learning how to do all this. Well, I'm still learning, but I like to this that I've made a few improvements since then. What do you think?
We'll have on more post later this evening discussing the changes to the text. See you then!

We are one week away from the official release of the second edition of my first ever novel, The Thief and The Red Mandolin! As we inch closer, I'll give you guys a few insights into the nature of the changes from the first edition of the book.

The first difference that you'll notice as soon as you open the book is the addition of maps! I've always wanted to have a set of maps for the book series, but lacked the know-how to put them together so they looked decent enough. When working the second edition, one of my top priorities was to figure how to create good-looking maps.

I mean, every self-respecting fantasy adventure book has maps, right? I'm pretty proud with how these came out. Hopefully, you guys will like them, too.
Stay tuned tuned for more reveals throughout the coming day until release.

See ya!
